Makeover season continues on the Web

Website makeovers seem to be the most happening thing on the web these days so after Yahoo India, Rediff and Indiatimes its now MSN India’s turn to have a makeover.
Well this makeover is nothing special in terms of design as it is completely based on the international msn.com but what is interesting is the features the revamped home page has four new channels to it — Lifestyle, Entertainment, News and Sports — along with services such as Windows Live Domains, Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Search and special effects (SFX) advertising packages.
The desktop TV that was introduced by NDTV Media which ihandles MSN India’s advertising in India has been retained.
This make over has come after the likes of Yahoo, Rediff and even Indiatimes! It makes me think is MSN taking the indian market lightly? If not then why would they let their advertising on the main Indian portal be handled by a TV company NDTV Media?
Well whatever be the case if MSN India has to be taken as a seroius player in the web portal market it has to attract users rather than just show number of traffic by redirecting hotmail users that logout to their MSN India page.
Also another makeover woth mentioning here is the educationtimes.com makeover which is no surprise after the main indiatimes.com got a makeover. The new education times has a much better layout a compared to its previous avatar.
