One might say that any ad campaigns success can be judged by the awards it gets.. Though generally this might be true there are some campaigns that though win awards but are not able to serve the purpose for which they were made for.

I came across such an online viral site which though wons awards across various fests but never ended up being the viral site it was supposed to. On contacting the agency TribalDDB i was told that the client timesjobs did not have enough budget alocated to promote this viral site!

Here is a viral sites which i think you should visit and you will start questioning why isn’t it been advertised yet!!! Its been around for 6 months!

Careerchartbusters of Timesjobs timesjobs

What is career chartbusters? Careerchartbusters.com is a compilation featuring spoofs of classic hits, sung by genuine job-seekers, taking a break from their fruitless job search routines. One visit to the site and it puts a smile across you face as the spoofs are easily indentifyble and hummable as well. It pains to know that due to the succesful browse and upload campaign which timesjobs has been running since so long this amazing viral site hasn’t seen much of traffic due to lack of advertising money backing it though it won the following awards..

AAAI GOA FEST 2006
Bronze - Times Jobs Career Chartbusters website

Asia Pacific Ad Fest 2006
Silver - Times Jobs Career Chartbusters website

I think its about time Timesjobs realised that on the internet a proactive strategy is better than a reactive one.. After all how easy it is for a competitor to make a similar viral site and use it to drive traffic to their job site.. Do leave your comments after you visit the site on what you feel about it..
