Raj travels looking at Indian hotel bookings

Raj Travels is one of the oldest travel and tour operators based out of Mumbai and it also owns the online bus coach service Rajnationalexpress.in. Although it has not ventured into the online travel space (which is already getting very cluttered) but it is looking to launch an exclusive hotel booking site. Though there has been no anouncement on the domain name speculation has it that it would be launched as indianhotelbookings.com (currently an old site bookindiahotels is hosted on the domain which is said to have been bought over Raj travels) by the first week of october.
Raj Travels plans to cater to Corporates through this site and is taking all measures by connecting with 3-5 star hotels across India. As of now they have 250 hotels signed up with them and they are using their own inhouse technological solutions inorder to connect to with these hotels and provide a live update of inventory of rooms available for booking.
Besides the live booking features they are also looking at provide panaromic views of rooms, lobby, guest rooms etc something similar to what they offer on their bus and coach booking service.
As far as competition is concerned there is no major exclusive hotel booking sites though the E-travel players like Makemytrip, Yatra and Cleartrip which offer hotel booking as well.
Only time will tell how successful this venture from Raj travels becomes after all it would require some marketing effort even to corporates to cut across the huge ad spends that other travel portal will make.
