The Google Story - Book Review

The Google Story" by David Vise is not a book on biography of Google. It covers a wide range of facts on Search Economy, using Google as a medium. The book high lights the formation of Google by two "crazy" students, the eventual incidents that turns Google into a Business platform concatenated with the personal experiences of Sergey Brin and Larry Page. It does cover some personal moments of the Founders which each and evry one can relate to. The highlights of the book are the intellectual fertile association of Larry and Sergey, the confrontations between Eric Schmidt and Founders, details on Danny Sullivan Show, the China syndrome, even the chief chef of google Charlie Ayers, the designing of business model for google, the AOL Deal, the IPO Process, the genome explorer Project with Craig, the competition between Google and Microsoft. The Book explains how Google became a Phenomena and how the people followed it, which created a trend in Search Business. The explanations focus more on Human Side of Google covering all the small details and not only the academic one. On the other hand I felt there were some explanations of Google Products which was almost like a marketting banner. But still they were enjoyable for a Read. Like Froogle, Picaso, Google News etc. And ya Dont miss the Search tips given at the end of the book as well as some questions from GLAT (Google Labs Aptitude test).

Mote… I read this as well as search by John Batelle… Night outs :))
the other book is far better than this buk..
You are true Kirss.. I have put the review of the other book also… David Vise was much focussed into Google and gave hollistic explanation of its formation, culture and future…. So Google Worshippers will definitely cherish this. But John Battelle is taking us on ride ion Search Economy and its future… Both the books holds good in its own way.
BTW Its Picasa ..not Picaso
