Yahoo launches Sms Backup

Yahoo.co.in has launched a new interesting sms service which according to me is not only innovative but also useful. Sms backup lets you back up the messages that you want to save by forwarding them across to 82438243. by doing so one can save that message in one’s yahoo mail account forever. Now there will be 350 million cell phone subscribers by 2010 and most of them would still have phones with limited memories thereby making this new product by yahoo very interesting and if i may add probably profitable. i say this because i myself have many smses which just cannot delete which may have information regarding important documents, account numbers, people and even girlfriends ;) . So I for one feel that this new service is a winner! Does anyone have any contradicting views?

I looked for the Yahoo! India SMS backup service the other day – it seems to have gone or been amalgamated into something else?

SMS backup should have restore facility also, with this service if you have backed up your SMSes then there is no way of getting them back onto your mobile phone.

Really it’s a fantastic idea. Usually we don’t get phones with lot of inbox memory inorder to store up all our important messages.
    thank you
