Red Herring: Google has released an ad on its recruitment page stating a unique requirement. Google is searching for a Corporate Development Manager, South Asia - Bangalore or Mumbai who can scout partnerships and acquisitions for google in India

The following is what they are asking

"Can you look across a crowded landscape and spot the partnership opportunities that best fit Google’s business strategy? Can you present Google’s partnership strengths in a compelling and innovative way? Do you enjoy thinking up new ways for companies to benefit from powerful technology? Google is looking for highly organized industry visionaries to support our core product partnership efforts, while growing and developing exciting new business lines"

Seems like India has also attracted the search giants attention and you may never know google may soon look at funding early stage companies in India as well after all the launch of so many venture funds in India could only be a sign of the confidence of and the potential of Indian entrepreneurs and their ventures.
