National Geographic gets into online gaming!
Exchange4Media: National Geographic gets into gaming? That sounds insane doesn’t it? Well its true but not the complete truth.. National geographic has launched a campaign to promote its programme Megastructures 2. This is no ordinary campaign but infact is an Online Gaming Contest called Megalinx which has been developed and being promoted by Media2win. Megalinx is a game, which is based on a classic format wherein jigsaw pieces fall from the top of the screen one by one and can be moved by the user to create the complete picture of one of the megastructures featured on the show. There are three megastructures to complete over three levels. Players also have a chance to win a trip to Dubai. The online game is being promoted through online advertising on Yahoo, Sify and Indiatimes. Now here is a TV channel that understands the power on online advertising and is willing to experiment and create a buzz. I have always wondered if the typical saas bahu or even the other hindi sitcoms could use the online model of creating a buzz.. I have yet to see a campaign of that kind. If anyone has please let me know..
