Google search for the blind

Google accessibleThe god of search has done it yet again! they have come up with a product that is not only innovative but is also humanitarian in nature. Google’s latest product is the Google Accessible which is a search engine for the visually impaired. It is currently is beta mode and can be accessed from http://labs.google.com. Now i know it seems difficult to imagine for people with normal people how the visually impaired must be using (if at all) google for searching on the internet? and even if they are how many such visually impaired people are there? But all these questions seems irrelvant.. I did try testing the new product and found that the search pages it shows up are according to google "search results that are more easily usable by blind and visually impaired users". One can learn more about this product in the FAQs section. Well honestly to me its tough to imagine how a visually impaired person would use this product if anyone out there can figure it out please comment! But in anycase Google efforts need an applause because in a business where getting ahead of competition with cutting edge products is of prime importance they seem  to be working for a cause that would have no revenue or a large user base but its still a noble cause. It just goes to show that the search giant is not all about business it also has a heart :)
