The wait is over Pantaloon the company behind the huge retail chain Big Bazaar has launched its online shopping portal FutureBazaar.com. The site seems to be in soft launch mode as there has been no press release (none that i have come across) nor has there been any marketing online or offline. Its seems that the site is being tested for usability and other issues. It promises lowest prices like it offline partenr Big Bazaar. I feel futurebazaar will the ultimate test to understand the e-commerce viability in India (thats assuming the pantaloon guys get their marketing right). But on the whole to me the site looks pretty simple and pretty ancient (circa 2000) if i may add nothing that make you go wow!

I totally agree. I guess if someone can do it right its' got to be pantaloon. With a very comprehensive retail presence & product offerings across categories & formats they have a strong customer understanding & buying economics which they can extend to the entire country by leveraging the power of net — via http://www.futurebazaar.com
I find the site very simple & clutter free although aesthetically it is not very appealing. The offers seem to be actually deals unlike other websites which are more an eye wash. Secondly what i feel is since they are going to be controling th entire delivery & post sales process; we can expect better customer handling & prompt, timely deliveries.
All the best to Pantaloon for their newest venture http://www.futurebazaar.com. I am sure it would be a grand success, i dont doubt there marketing capabilities; looking at their past record.

Yeah! its really awesome site. is there any product advertising opportunity at futurebazaar?
