Car portal space is going the e-travel way
Cars cars and more cars and even more cars on the internet! Well im talking about the car classified portals. Recently the online matrimony giant Bharat Matrimony also jumped on the the car classified bandwagon by launching IndiaAutomobiles.com. Now Carsalesindia.com was recently launched in UK in the Le Royal Meridian, Mr. Samuel Jeyakumar, Chairman & Director of Sams Auto Trade Ltd UK, and Ms. Preena Sherene Managing Director of Sams Auto Trade (I) Pvt Ltd welcomed over sixty guests to an evening launch ceremony. Now i was very curious to know how many players are in the car classifieds market, so im listing down as many as i could gather the list is not exhaustive please add more if you know any..

When i told one of my Internet Illiterate friends about soo many auto portals.. this is what she commented "Are these people mad? Why would i buy a car online? i mean i dont think that many people can use their credit card online to buy a car!" .. You know my reaction was a non stop laugh…hehe..
Well while searching for these auto portals i also came across a social networking site for biker’s and bike fanatics Xbhp.com it boasts of 20000 users and look very neat as well. On further research i found that the site is run by sunny who own itsasunny.net and has also recently designed the kinetic brand site for Blaze.

Hi Rajiv,
Thanks for the update on the soo many auto portals in India. I think these portals at best can be used for trading used cars and not buying new cars. Also i really like the carpool feature on http://www.indimoto.com, its free and makes us search carpool ads or post them for sharing a ride in our city. A very nice social engineering concept.

I agree that no one is going to decide online to buy a car; but portals like BharathAutomobiles.com which I used recently to sell my car brings the buyer and seller together and usual check and price neogotiation; but it was nice using the portal and filter buyers within your range.

I am rather surprised to notice the failure of the article to mention indiacar.com. It is probably the oldest and most robust auto site that I have been surfing since 1999. While many portals "look good", Indiacar simply puts out the maximum content that is possible on every product out there. The owners feedback is amazingly active. I guess the author has very little incentive to really research the subject- the age old mistake has been applied here- judge the book by its cover!
I agree with Bala. Indiacar.com is probably the best of these portals. With over 400,000 pages of content, there is no one who comes close. Keep it up Indiacar!
Rajiv, your friend said it correctly that noone is going to buy car online, at least not in near future. But its not just car buying that these sites provide. They provide a lots of resources, tools etc to make you aware with the auto industry of India. People are not only using these sites heavily but also are getting benefited from them.
Whenever there is a f ght for something, its not in vain. Your friend or you as a light observer but the people putting crores of rupees in this industry are no fools. Online auto market is happening now, it will rock very soon and every one will realize it, including you and your friend.
Never purchase a car from AutomartIndia or FirstChoice. If you still insist on buying one from them please visit the following website and then decide. I repent purchasing my car from AutomartIndia.
