Yahoo is India’s No.1 online brand!

Business Standard: According to a survey Yahoo has emerged the No.1 Indian Online Brand with over 35% of people recalling it as the first website that comes to their mind. Yahoo was followed by Google which was at 21% then followed by Rediff.com at 15 and Indiatimes at 5%. Hotmail.com was at 5% and MSN which is the third most visited website internationally according to Alexa.com was at only 4%.

Besides the main portals naukri.com ranked first in the online jobs segment while shaadi.com ranked first in the matrimonials.

Online shopping was led by Ebay and information search was obviously Google.

The news and content segment was led by indiatimes closely followed by NDTV and Rediff.

For financials new content Moneycontrol.com ranked first with 12% of the users prefering it over others.

For Mobile content download Rediff.com was the most preffered at 23%.

The above survey was carried out by on-line research and advisory firm JuxtConsult by collecting 20000 online surveys and supporting it with 5500 offline surveys for better representation.
