Johnson n Johnson lauch microsite on Rediff.com

Posted by Rajiv Dingra on June 29th, 2006.

J&J has launched a microsite on rediff.com (http://jnjbaby.rediff.com) focussing entirely on baby care and pregnant mothers. To me it looks like the microsite is aiming to generate a database of users by asking them to signup to newsletters and hence market different baby care products through these newsletters. What has us puzzled is why did J&J choose to be a channel on rediff.com rather than a seprate domain something like jnjbaby.com?.. Some may say its better to be within rediff.com as rediff gets the largest number of hits among indian sites thereby attracting a lot of traffic. But my arguement is that how many pregnant or new mothers actually have the time to surf the net? and even if they are searching for baby care related stuff i suggest using adwords and having a stand alone domain name like jnjbaby.com .. Please let us know what you think..

    indian moms Says:

J and J within rediff is fine - it will bring traffic. Nothing to be puzzled, they probably have a good budget.
By the way, J and J also owns babycenter.in ( for Indian audience )
